Remote, hybrid, or in office: what the data says in 2026
Three years past the great experiment, the patterns are clear. Here's what we see across our pipeline.
Three years past the great experiment, the patterns are clear. Here's what we see across our pipeline.
Hybrid is the default
Across our funded startup briefs, roughly 65 percent are now hybrid at two or three days a week. Pure remote sits at 20 percent. Fully in office is 15 percent and rising slowly.
Senior candidates negotiate on this more than salary.
What candidates actually want
Predictability. A clearly stated policy beats a generous-but-vague one. 'Two days in office, agreed with your manager' is a stronger offer than 'flexible'.
The mistake to avoid
Changing the policy six months in. Candidates joined for the deal as advertised. Reneging on it is a fast path to attrition.

The first 30 days decide whether a hire becomes a contributor or a regret. Here's the cadence that works.
The annual review conversation candidates wish they'd had
Most reviews are about the past year. The good ones are about the next one.
